An offer from Ferrari can’t be refused: The Italian family welcomes both new and returning racing name.

MARANELLO – Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu will take on the role of reserve driver for Ferrari in the upcoming season of the prestigious F1 series.

After leaving Sauber, he did not secure a permanent seat with any team, so he is returning to the Maranello squad, where he had previously been part of their academy in his youth.

“Back where it all began. Thank you Ferrari for believing in me, and I can’t wait for the start of the next chapter together,” Zhou wrote on social media.

Alongside the only Chinese driver in F1 history, the second reserve driver, Antonio Giovinazzi, will be ready to step in should Charles Leclerc or Lewis Hamilton be unavailable. Zhou entered the F1 racing scene in 2022 when he secured a seat with Alfa Romeo. The Italian team was also the last team Giovinazzi raced for in 2021. This was reported by the AP agency.
